Burgundy may be internationally known for its wines, UNESCO “Grands Crus Routes” between Dijon, Beaune and Santenay in Côte d’Or, but southern Burgundy in Saône & Loire has a great deal to offer as well. Nestled between the Mâconnais and Côte Châlonnaise vineyards, you discover medieval abbeys, chateaux and picturesque villages which testimony to the history.

At the Middle-Age, Cistercian monks of the Cîteaux abbey developed a prosperous business, viticulture and agriculture by reclaiming the land to plant the vines, but not only. Farms and wineries were built…the biggest and the most prestigious one is the Clos Vougeot. Hundred years after the foundation of Cîteaux, a thousand abbeys and six thousand farms were built all over Europe. But Burgundy had its glorious age at the 15th century, under the Duke Philip the Good’s power. At that time, Burgundy stretched from Holland and the Flanders (Belgium).

Burgundy features several wine routes stretching over 250 kilometers on a north-south axis. It starts by the Chablisien terroir producing very fine dry white wines that we recognize for their purety, freshness and minerality. The vines grow in a 150 million year-old limestone soil.
More southern, before arriving to the Beaujolais, two other vineyards have to pay your attention: it’s the Mâconnais and the Côte Châlonnaise. Even though southern Burgundy wines as not as prestigious than legendary Corton or Romanée-Conti, the appellations of Rully, Mercurey, Givry, Montagny, Pouilly Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Viré-Clessé… are very interesting to discover and to pair with the French and Burgundy cuisine.

Last but not least, you will explore the outstanding Climats de Bourgogne, these carefully marked and named vine plots over centuries, planted over 60 kilometers on a thin strip of vineyards from Dijon to Santenay, just south-west of Beaune, and among them of the most famous names from the world wine: Nuits-Saint-Georges, Gevrey-Chambertin, Romanée-Conti, Clos de Vougeot, Montrachet, Corton, Musigny, Pommard, Meursault, etc.
All routes you will explore with us offer breathtaking landscape and exceptional heritage with perfectly lined vines, quaint villages, basilicas and medieval abbeys.

o better understand the Burgundy wines, you will visit several wineries in Puligny Montrachet, Vosne-Romanée, Mercurey and Cruzille nearby Tournus. Producers you will meet have shifted toward organic viticulture or adopted biodynamics, and they sometimes plow some plots by horse.

The 2-hour wine tasting class you partake gives a perfect understanding about terroir, and diverse Chardonnay and Pinot Noir expressions. You learn how to taste and pair the wines with your meal (visual, olfactory, flavors and aromas…). Tasting includes a seven wines blind tasting from a regional blending, village, premier cru and grand cru at the end.


Grand-Cour house offers a well-equipped kitchen with an island to accommodate 4 to 6 people and cook together in a friendly atmosphere. Join Corinne in the kitchen to partake cooking classes celebrating the French and Burgundy traditional and modern cuisine. The three classes included in this program are hands-on and taught in English. You will learn how to prepare and to cook a well-balanced 3-course meal including an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert.
Sample menu can include: escargots, oeufs en meurette (cooked with bacon, baby onions and wine sauce), gougères (cheese puffs), French onion soup, boeuf bourguignon, turbot fish with mustard sauce, duck breast cooked with mustard and honey, Bresse chicken breast with cream and morels, veal fillet topped with gingerbread crust, roasted figs with goat cheese and honey, Marc de Bourgogne brandy soufflé, traditional apple tart, pears Bourguignonne, etc.

You will also experience the marketplace tour and shopping in Beaune, as well as visits producers, cheese experts, and enter fine grocery shops, best bakeries offering crispy baguettes, croissants and buttered brioche, etc. In a word you will get and enjoy the Best of Burgundy in your plate… and you will have fun, for sure!

Burgundy is a reputed region for haute cuisine and quality products are essential. Bresse poultry is THE one, named “The Queen of Poultry and the Poultry of Kings” by Brillat-Savarin in his delightful and hilarious classic about the joys of the table The Physiology of Taste, first published in 1825! Many celebrity and MOF Chefs sublimate Bresse chickens by cooking it in a bladder… terrific!

In visiting a chicken farm you better understand why the meat is so exceptional and tasty.

You will enjoy all kind of Burgundy cuisine through traditional and refined gourmet experiences at the cooking school, and at local and Michelin-star restaurants including Lameloise in Chagny listed three stars!

Our Taste of Burgundy tour provides an ultimate experience. The best way to discover Burgundy and its exceptional wines is to jin us! As a cook and wine connoisseur, Corinne Préteur takes you to the best spots including the most intimate ones. The tour features world-famous Côte d’Or (meaning Golden Slopes), home to illustrious Grands Crus wines such as Chambertin, Corton, Romanée-Conti, Echézeaux, and Montrachet. You will visit the outstanding Clos de Vougeot and the 13th century Hospices de Beaune which are the perfect illustration of the Duchy’s power and catholic religion’s influence.

The itinerary also includes a full-day excursion to Southern Burgundy giving you the opportunity to discover the Saône & Loire breathtaking landscapes, fascinating medieval sights such as Tournus, Cormatin and Cluny, and the vineyards of Côte Chalônnaise and Mâconnais.

Welcome to Puligny-Montrachet legendary wine village, 15 minutes distance from Beaune. We invite you to stay at Corinne’s Grand-Cour charming house, a stone’s throw from the village center and surrounded by winemakers. It offers two spacious ensuite double bedrooms furnished with a king size bed with luxury mattress and individual design touches. Each room’s decoration pays tribute to summer and fall seasons and colors. This is Corinne’s home this week, where she runs cooking classes and hosts you for dinners, according to the itinerary. The other option is the elegant Maison d’Olivier Leflaive 4-star boutique hotel, less than five minutes by walking from Grand-Cour house and cooking school. Housed in a 17th-century building, it offers stylish rooms and suites with ultimate comfort and all modern amenities. La Maison d’Olivier Leflaive also boasts a charming interior garden and a spacious lounge.


Day 1 (Sunday) Welcome to Burgundy!
Pick up at Beaune or Dijon train station after 2pm (or earlier upon request).
Private transfer by car or van to Puligny Montrachet village (Private transfer by car or van from Paris CDG airport is an option but at extra coast.)
Check-in at the B&B or at the hotel with a welcome drink and snack. Resting time.
Walk through the village and vineyards if you decide.
Aperitif and dinner at Grand-Cour house at 6pm.

Day 2 (Monday) Puligny-Montrachet vineyards & wine exploration
Cooking class1 Continental breakfast at Grand-Cour or at the hotel.
At 9:45am, partake a two-hour expert-led guided walking tour through Puligny-Montrachet World Heritage listed vineyards. Amidst the vineyards, the sommelier will explain the terroir (geology, climate…), classification (history, structure…) and viticulture in Burgundy. The tour continues to the visit of the amazing cellar guided by the wine maker in person.
Morning programs ends by a 4-course food & wine tasting lunch, including a Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2013.
Early afternoon resting time.
At 4:30-7:30pm, join Corinne in her kitchen to partake your first cooking class celebrating the French and Burgundy cuisine.
Tasting dinner accompanied by wine follows.

Day 3 (Tuesday) Full-day Southern Burgundy tour
Continental breakfast at Grand-Cour or at the hotel.
8:30am: Transfer through Côté Châlonnaise vineyards (Rully, Mercurey, Givry) to Cormatin.
10am: One-hour visit to the chateau boasting prestigious 17th-century interiors and decor. Then we stop in Cruzille to visit a family-run winery producing top-ranked white and red Mâcon organic wines. Meet the wine maker personally.
1pm: Michelin-star lunch in Tournus.
Afternoon walk through the town’s historic quarter to the abbey.
Late afternoon visit to a Bresse chicken farm (the opportunity to buy a poultry that will be cooked during the class the next day).
Transfer to Puligny. Resting time.
Dinner at Grand-Cour house.

Day 4 (Wednesday) Beaune market tour and wine tasting class – Afternoon wine tour through Côte de Nuits World Heritage vineyards
Continental breakfast at Grand-Cour or at the hotel.
Transfer to Beaune. Market tour and food shopping.
11am – 12:30pm : Wine tasting class in Beaune Transfer to Côte de Nuits Grand Cru wine route.
Picnic lunch at Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Esperance oratory overlooking Pernand-Vergelesses village and vineyards. In case of rain, lunch in a restaurant in Gevrey-Chambertin.
Afternoon visit to the Clos Vougeot, and Grands Crus wine route tour through Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Ladoix, and Aloxe-Corton.
Visit to a prestigious winery whose name is kept secret!
Transfer to Puligny. Resting time.
Dinner at Grand-Cour house or at EDEM Michelin-star restaurant in Chassagne-Montrachet.

Day 5 (Thursday) Cooking Class2 – Afternoon guided tour & visits in Beaune
Continental breakfast at Grand-Cour or at the hotel.
9:30am-12:30pm, join Corinne in her kitchen to partake your second cooking class celebrating the French and Burgundy cuisine.
Tasting lunch accompanied by wine follows.
Transfer to Beaune at 2pm.
Visit to Hôtel Dieu 15th century former charity hospital which is a museum today.
4-5pm : Visit to Edmond Fallot traditional mustard factory.
Time free in Beaune for visiting and/or shopping.
7:30pm: Gourmet dinner at a Michelin-ranked restaurant in Pommard.
Transfer to Puligny.

Day 6 (Friday) Cooking Class3 – Afternoon “Côte de Beaune”wine route tour to La Rochepot
Continental breakfast at Grand-Cour or at the hotel.
9:30am-12:30pm, join Corinne in her kitchen to partake your third and last cooking class celebrating the French and Burgundy cuisine.
Tasting lunch accompanied by wine follows.
Afternoon Côte de Nuits Grands Crus wine route tour through Pommard, Meursault, Saint-Aubin to finish at La Rochepot.
Visit to a prestigious winery whose name is kept secret! Transfer to Puligny. Resting time.
7:30pm: Dinner at Lameloise 3-star Michelin restaurant in Chagny
Transfer to Puligny.

Day 7 (Saturday) Transfer to Dijon or Beaune train station.
After breakfast, transfer to Dijon or Beaune train station.
End of the tour.
