THE STORY BEHIND
This sublime square scarf Grand Palais is a tribute to the 1900 Art Nouveau. The iconic and poetic cashmere pattern grows endlessly exactly like the sap of a tree. Through the glass roof, the gaze flies to the sky and the clouds like a vital energy. The dream of Paris comes to life.
The Grand Palais has been built in 1897 for the 1900 Universal Exhibition. It’s a masterpiece of Classicism and Art Nouveau, featuring large stone colonnades and stunning conservatory-style glass roof. It’s the largest in Europe with a 150 ft height under its dome. It spans (650 feet) in length.
Dedicated “to the glory of French art,” the Grand Palais was intended to showcase the fine arts and France’s leadership in that realm. It hosts today cultural events and trade shows.
